This Wednesday, March 20 at 6:30PM in the Mt. Ashland Room we’ll have a famous melodrama,
“Now, Voyager”, starring Bette Davis and Paul Henreid. The outstanding supporting cast includes
Claude Rains, Gladys Cooper, Bonita Granville, and Ilka Chase. It was directed by Irving
Rapper. Film critic Danny Peary calls it “One of the cinema’s great romances.” A tender love story, a
taut psychological drama, an inspiring tale of physical and spiritual transformation – “Now, Voyager” is all
three. This movie was awarded an Oscar for Best Music, Scoring for Max Steiner, and two Oscar
nominations: Best Actress for Davis and Best Supporting Actress for Cooper. This film runs just under 2
hours.
