On Tuesday, March 27 (7:00 PM, Mt. Ashland Room) Herb Rothschild, the Daily Tidings columnist, will lead a "Community Conversation about the new UN Treaty to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons."

Even though we all trained as school children to "Duck and Cover" it is easy to forget that most of those nuclear weapons are still out there and that, "Because of the extraordinary danger of the current moment, the [Atomic Scientists] Science and Security Board today (Jan. 26, 2018) moves the minute hand of the Doomsday Clock 30 seconds closer to catastrophe. It is now two minutes to midnight—the closest the Clock has ever been to Doomsday, and as close as it was in 1953, at the height of the Cold War."  (https://thebulletin.org/2018-doomsday-clock-statement)   Let's find out what the new UN Treaty may have to offer.
