Aging Brain Discussion

Primary tabs

Growing older may be inevitable but mental decline is not. Find out what science has to say about how your brain changes over time. On the 2nd Monday of August, I started a series on The Aging Brain. This will be a DVD viewing of a Great Courses series with Dr. Thad Polk from the University of Michigan with discussion either during or after the viewing. Dr. Polk has led projects investigating the neural structure underlying cognition. Some of the topics to be covered are: why we don’t live forever, brain changes with age, emotional aging and effects of diseases such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and strokes. The Aging Brain discussion group will continue for two months on Mondays, at 7PM in the Mt. Ashland Room. ~ Norma Anderson.
