Hilltop Gallery Opening "Double Take"

DOUBLE TAKE

These two artists function as a married pair but are also separate individuals.
They share ideas, energy, and a commitment to art but work with different content, materials, and limits.
At times they operate in sync but then frequently disengage to claim their own personal territory.
Like a pair of eyes that work together to give full sight, each viewpoint takes in reality from a slightly different but still overlapping perspective.
These two artists share a purposeful need to explore, discover, and understand their larger environment. In their artistic efforts, each is concerned with finding an underlying structure in order to give a strong foundation for both feeling and form.
Every artist takes something from the world to process and to give personal focus. Experimentation, play and research are necessities in their deliberations.
Each viewer takes something from the encountered work and gives it credence and meaning. When an artist and viewer, like a pair of eyes, engage in genuine vision their overlapping views can bring a fullness of insight.
